Hi! My name is Valenie Wilkins and I am the primary speech-language pathologist at AES. I have been a resident of Cartersville since 1985 and I graduated from Cass Comprehensive High School in 1991. I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia. After five years of working in the hospital setting with swing shifts and long hours I knew it was time for a change. I decided to become a speech-language pathologist after meeting a dear friend who was unable to speak because he was on life-support. I watched a speech-language pathologist work with him and I knew that I wanted to make this type of difference in a person's life. I received my Master's in Communication Disorders in 2001 from Georgia State University. I taught in Cobb County for four years prior to transferring to Bartow County. In 2010, I received my Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.
My husband (Lou Brock) and I have been married for fourteen years and we are blessed to have two precious girls, Kaci and Sidney.
