Due to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s call to action this afternoon and recommendation to temporarily close schools in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, Bartow County Schools will be closed to all students and staff March 16, 2020, through March 27, 2020. Staff, if healthy, should report tomorrow, March 13. Student attendance is optional tomorrow, March 13, and bus routes will operate on a normal schedule. We understand that your family may need to make childcare arrangements prior to this long-term school closure. School will resume for all students and staff March 30, 2020.
A long-term Digital Learning Day plan will go into effect for all students and staff Tuesday, March 17, 2020. We urge families to review the attached information with your child at their earliest convenience. For questions or concerns regarding Digital Learning Days, please contact your child’s teacher or administrator.
We understand many of our families rely on meals provided by Bartow County Schools. During this long-term closure, meal service options will be provided to all families. Additional information on this will be forthcoming.
All Georgia High School Association (GHSA), non-GHSA extracurricular activities, and field trips are suspended until further notice.
Thank you for your support during this uncertain time as we work to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and those most vulnerable to this virus.
The Bartow County School System will communicate future updates, information, and Digital Learning resources in the coming days and weeks through our website and mass notification system to assist our families during this challenging time.
