The Bartow County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 11.14 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Central Office, 65 Gilreath Road, Cartersville, GA on July 30, 2020 at 11:00 am and 6:00 pm. An additional public hearing on this tax increase will be held at the Central Office, 65 Gilreath Road, Cartersville, GA on August 17, 2020 at 6:00 pm. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 18.75 mills, an increase of 1.879 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 16.871 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $122 and the proposed tax increase for nonhomestead property with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $150.
