Several great opportunities are available during the summer for Bartow County students.  These are suggestions, programs, and opportunities to get our students reading and to combat the "summer slide" that often occurs.

During the summer months, myON makes its digital library of more than 10,000 books for children and youth available to Georgians for free through July 31, 2020.

Getting Started is Quick and Easy!  "Get Georgia Reading At Home"

  1. Go to and click the myON Login button.
  2. Enter the following login information:
    • School Name: Get Georgia Reading (Type the first few letters and select from the drop-down menu.)
    • Username: bartowcounty
    • Password: read
  3. Click on the Sign In button, select a book and start reading!

GPB Education is once again amplifying its services for parents and caregivers as the state faces challenges brought about by COVID-19.


GPB is partnering with Bright by text, a service that provides free childhood education and development tools, along with community resources, directly to smartphones.


Parents/caregivers can sign up by texting GPB to 274448 or by filling out this form.

TumbleBooks is free through August 31, 2020.  Click HERE to access this online K-6 book site!

Summer Read Every summer Bartow County Library System conducts a Summer Reading program at each of its branches throughout the county.  There are online activities throughout the summer for children of all ages!  More information about the opportunities available can be found HERE!

Teachers, media specialists and students have created grade specific reading lists.  These are suggestions only and not required at all.  The goal is to provide great options for students to read that are age and level appropriate.  Click HERE for more information and the lists!

The Bartow Literacy Council's mission is to foster a love of reading in parents and children.  They provide age-appropriate books mailed directly to the homes of children 0-5 years of age and encourage families to read together.  Click HERE for more information on the Bartow Literacy Council.
