Attendance Reminders
Excuses
Students are allowed 4-parent excuses (PE) each semester in accordance with BCSS handbook guidelines. All absences must medical, dental, death in family, etc. with proper documentation to be considered excused. All excuses must be hard copies, no emails will be excepted. All front office, attendance or transportation communications must include student-first and last name, parent name/or signature- contact number and teacher name. This makes the verification process quicker and smoother.
Truancy Letters
2 unexcused absences, will warrant contact from teacher
3-5 unexcused absences will warrant a Truancy letter via USPS and opportunity to clear absences with proper excuse notes
8 unexcused will warrant a social worker referral
Tardies
The tardy bell rings at 8:05 am. Students must be in the classroom before the bell rings. If not, they are considered tardy and must be signed in at the front office, to receive their tardy pass. Three tardies will equal an absence and tardy letters will go home in accordance with our attendance policies.
Transportation Changes
The cutoff time for making a transportation change is 1:45 p.m. All changes will go through the front office and/or transportation email only. No Teacher emails, DOJO or phone calls will be accepted. A parent note should be turned in your student's folder or request a change through the transportation email below.

Front Office Updates or Information Changes
Please have your driver’s license with you always, as it is needed for changes and ID check. This year we will be using a two-part student/parent ID verification process. All student information will be pulled from the information cards and entered in the Power School portal. If you have any changes to the pickup list, custody, phone, address, etc.” – it is required that you come in and make all changes in person, as soon as possible with proper ID and documentation needed. We are not allowed to take changes over the phone, no exceptions!
