Tryout Clinics:

Monday 5/13 – Wednesday 5/15 from 4:00 – 6:00 in the AHS Aux Gym

Tryouts: Thursday 5/16 beginning at 4:00PM

The athletes will be evaluated by the coaches on jumps, cheer, dance, band dance, tumbling, stunting, personality, strength, flexibility, and overall physical fitness, as well as teacher and coach evaluations. While we are looking for athletes with a great deal of ability, more importantly, we are looking for athletes who have the potential to work within the framework of a team. The final decision for participation will be made by the coaches based on their observations, knowledge and the positions needed. Please review the detailed scoring rubric here.

At the time of try-outs, all athletes must meet academic eligibility, be on-track for graduation, have a current physical, and have returned the information packet with all forms signed and completed.

Cheerleading is an expensive sport (deposits, fees, tumbling, etc.). There will be various fundraisers to help offset costs. All athletes are expected to take part in all fundraisers, or the parents will be responsible for the full cost. Should your daughter be selected as a cheerleader, the first payment of $250 will need to be made at our Mandatory Parent Meeting on Monday, May 20th at 6:00pm in the AHS Cafeteria.

·       Copy and paste the link below into an email or Schoology message to 4 of your current TEACHERS (within the last school year)

Step 4. Coach Recommendation (1 Total)

·       Copy and paste the link below into an email or Schoology message to 1 of your current COACHES (within the last school year). If you do not currently play a sport, a PE Coach would work just fine! Coach Recommendation

 Deadline to submit forms is May 9th

Learn Tryout Material: You will need to come to tryouts knowing BOTH the cheer and dance. We will NOT be teaching these during Cheer Clinics.
