Girls Day was created to introduce young women to non-traditional career programs. Students will rotate through a group of program areas, meet instructors, learn about career opportunities, and participate in activities designed to give them a glimpse into these fields.
Last year, students built birdhouses in Carpentry, and they constructed three-foot-tall Christmas trees the year before. In Criminal Justice they have participated in finger printing and “digging up bodies.” They mixed fertilizer in Horticulture, worked on trainers with Electrical and Computer Engineering, and they were able to sit in the cab of a CDL truck.
It has been a great way for students to discover talents and interests they may not have known they had!
Here is a list of the programs they have planned for this year!
