Many of you know that we have a sweet 3rd grade student here at HCES who is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Almost one year ago, after a series of health concerns and visits to multiple doctors, Emerson was diagnosed with leukemia. From the very beginning, she has been an absolute FIGHTER. Her courage, her joy, and her determination have inspired every single one of us.
Today, we are thrilled to share that no cancer cells have been detected. Emerson is now in round three of chemotherapy to ensure every potential cell is eliminated, and she will complete a fourth round as an added layer of protection to keep the cancer from returning. Through it all, she has shown a strength far beyond her years.
To honor her bravery and surround her with love, HCES was covered in pink Wednesday — hallways, classrooms, and smiling faces all shining in her honor. We wore pink not just as a color, but as a symbol of our support, our pride, and our belief in her continued healing. Emerson, you are a light in our school, and we are standing with you every step of the way.
