🏈 College football season is HERE! 🏈 Today we kicked off the season with College Colors Day, and our Tigers showed up representing their favorite teams! A HUGE thank you to Water Tower Grill for the delicious wings and to Vargo Orthodontics for sponsoring lunch for our faculty and staff! Great food, a little friendly rivalry, and lots of college spirit made for a fun Friday at AMS!

Our 8th Grade ELA teachers dressed the part today as they introduced students to their new novel, The Crossover! Mrs. Creel got students moving with PE warm-ups, taught them what a basketball “crossover” actually is, and showed clips of some of the best NBA crossovers so students could build background knowledge before diving into the novel. Meanwhile, Mrs. Smith kept students engaged by handing out tickets for participation throughout class. At the end of the lesson, students got to cash in those tickets for chances to shoot a basketball into the crate! 🏀🎟️ This is what engaging instruction looks like—building background knowledge, getting students actively involved, and creating excitement about what they’re learning!

We had our PBIS Sorting Party today, and our Tigers officially found out which team they belong to!

A HUGE thank you to our Connections Department for putting together such a fun experience for our students!

We wanted to wish our friend Gracen the very best of luck as he heads off to the University of Georgia! Gracen has been a huge help to our summer custodial crew, working hard behind the scenes to help get AMS ready for our students and staff each year. We are so thankful for all of his hard work and the time he has spent as part of our AMS! We are definitely going to miss having him around, but we are so excited for this next chapter. Good luck at UGA, Gracen! Go Dawgs! 🐶❤️🖤
