Today we kicked off our ICARE Attendance Challenge!!! We discussed with students the importance of being on time and reporting daily for school and your job. We also spoke about learning skills of the trade at your place of employment and how to keep your job from a employability standpoint.

Parents, these are the highlighted points we discussed with students today during Assembly concerning procedures and expectations. A few other tidbits are noted below:
1. We will be issuing parking passes at the end of August- passes are $10 for all student drivers on campus, both BCCCA and Chattahoochee Tech Students.

Sonic in Cartersville hosted a car wash fundraiser for Public Safety this past weekend. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed your support!
The passing of our ICARE Extraordinaire trophy from Mrs. Foy is awarded to Mrs. Burkhalter.
Alison Burkhalter has been an amazing addition to the BCCCA faculty this year. She truly exemplifies integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence in her work with students. She has thrown all of her energy into developing the Teaching as a Profession pathway. It has been amazing to watch her students grow as individuals and learn what it takes to be an effective educator. Mrs. Burkhalter has worked diligently to ensure that students are held to high standards and consistently provided support to all students who have needed extra help. She is an incredible educator and the BCCCA is thankful to have her on our team.

Principal “Wings of Excellence” Award
The “Wings of Excellence” Award is given by Principal Dr. Doss. It is awarded to the student who goes above and beyond, is reliable and dependable, enthusiastic, devoted, hardworking and strives for excellence every day.
Congratulations to the 2023 “Wings of Excellence” Principals Award recipient- Jeremias Snowden.
Public safety cadets assisted the Reinhardt University Police Academy during their traffic stop test this past weekend!
BCCCA STUDENT SPOTLIGHT:
Marina Colon-Velez has completed both the Healthcare and Cosmetology Pathways
and earned Dual Enrollment college credits at the Academy. She also finished the required 1500 hours in order test for her Cosmetology State Board license. This is a rare accomplishment for a high school student. Her hard work in high school has opened many career opportunities in her future. Congratulations Marina!
Thank you Lifesong Montessori School for welcoming the BCCCA Teacher Academy to your school . We enjoyed learning about the Montessori Method and had a great visit this morning!
Georgia Future Educators Day was a huge success! We had a great morning at the BCCCA celebrating Paige Forman and Ally Schmanski on their commitment to a career in education! Looking forward to having you both back in Bartow County Schools in a few years! Best of luck! We are proud of you!

Bartow Back the Blue invited the Mr. Magee's Public Safety class to their sponsors appreciation dinner. They recognized our BCCCA Public Safety program and announced the scholarship to further fund our program!
