It is with great sadness that Cass High School announces the passing of our Associate Principal, Mr. Bill Johnson.

For the past ten years, Mr. Johnson faithfully served Cass High School, including the last five years as Associate Principal, dedicating his heart to our students, staff, and community. His leadership was marked by integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping every student succeed. Whether he was encouraging a student, supporting a teacher, or celebrating the accomplishments of others, he always led with kindness and humility.

A proud United States Marine Corps veteran and lifelong educator, Mr. Johnson believed in the power of education to change lives. His influence extended far beyond the classroom and the office, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students and colleagues.

Above all, Mr. Johnson was devoted to his family. He often spoke with great pride about his wife, Philena, and his daughters, Ashton, Sheridan, and Caitlin. His love for them was evident in everything he did.

The halls of Cass High School will not be the same without his steady presence, warm smile, and genuine care for others. His legacy of service, leadership, and compassion will continue to inspire us for years to come.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home. The Johnson family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour on June 22, 2026.

Please join the Cass High School family in keeping the Johnson family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Once a Colonel, Always a Colonel

Mark your calendars for our Homecoming Parade next Tuesday, September 16th in downtown Cartersville. The parade starts at 6pm. Come out and support your Colonels!

Mark your calendars for Open House!
10th-12th grade students will be from 3:30pm- 4:30pm and 9th grade students will be from 6-7pm. All students will report to the cafeteria first to get their schedules. Students can also check transportation and apply for free and reduced lunch in the cafeteria. Students can then find their classes and meet their teachers. We look forward to seeing you there!

Attention Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors: Registration for next semester will be Tuesday February 11, 2025. Students will register for their elective classes during advisement. Your attendance is very important on Tuesday! Teachers have already completed course recommendations for academic classes. Students can access the course catalog on Schoology for more information about specific courses. Parents- please discuss with your child which courses they would like to register for prior to Tuesday. Students who do not choose courses will be enrolled in the next electives within their current pathway. Students with excused absences will be allowed to have a makeup session for registration.
