Graphic thanking Wynn’s Landscape Supply for donating 3.25 tons of crusher run to the school’s killdeer bird sanctuary. The graphic includes three photos: a close-up of crusher run gravel being unloaded from a dump truck, four elementary students standing on a pile of gravel outdoors, and a truck from Wynn’s Landscape Supply dumping gravel on school grounds. Text reads, “Thank you Wynn’s Landscape Supply,” and explains that fourth-grade students added gravel to the sanctuary to support nesting killdeer birds.

Fourth-grade students brainstormed new ways to attract the Killdeer birds that nest on our campus towards the sanctuary. As part of the PBL for third, fourth, and fifth grade, student designed and built a sanctuary for the Killdeer nesting season. All of the materials for the sanctuary were donated such as the 3.25 tons of crusher run that Wynn's Landscaping donated and delivered. Fourth-grade students chose the crusher run because it has more shades of gray and is softer than the slag, a steel by-product. The sanctuary project is focused on providing a safe place for the birds to nest away from the playground.

Thank you to Wynn's Landscape Supply for the donation and delivery.
