We want to congratulate all nominees for being recognized for the hard work that you give to our MINER Family every day!

Below are the nominations that were received regarding Mrs. Hamilton.

1) Katie Hamilton is by far the greatest teacher I have ever worked alongside. She is fiercely dedicated to her students and ensuring their success. She constantly researches new strategies and learning techniques to meet the needs of her students. She goes above and beyond as leader of the PBIS committee to make all students feel 'seen', cared for, and valued. She works tirelessly on new and innovative ways to engage her learners, mining current trends to make her content more relevant and appealing. She is truly deserving of the title Teacher of the Year.

2) I would like to nominate Katie Hamilton for the 2021-2022 teacher of the year. Katie’s ingenuity in the classroom is like none other. She strives to engage her students with relevant learning experiences that support all academic areas. She integrates and uses meaningful technology, involves the community in both social and academic lessons, and prepares our students for lifelong success while always keeping an infectious positive attitude.  She serves as a role model for both students and peers. Katie is a new teacher mentor, leader of the PBIS committee, coaches/assists athletics, and a member of the school’s guiding coalition. Her light shines bright, and her kids all know that they are loved! She seamlessly juggles many different responsibilities that others would be overwhelmed by, yet she is always willing to lend a helping hand. For these reasons and many more, Katie Hamilton, should receive the honor of being Red Top Middle’s teacher of the year.

3) I would like to nominate Katie Hamilton for Teacher of the Year because:

  • She epitomizes the RTMS GOLD values and has been an asset since she arrived years ago to do her student teaching
  • Both students and staff respect and admire her
  • Her students are better people because of her influence and time spent in her classes
  • Our PBIS program would not be what it is today without her
  • Her input and ideas greatly improve all RTMS committees
  • She will step in and volunteer whenever she is needed

4) I would like to nominate Katie Hamilton for Teacher of the Year. From the very start of school, Ms. Hamilton has been intricately involved in bettering our school for our students. From flexible seating to flexible assignments, Ms. Hamilton works tirelessly to meet each of her students at their personal level. Through her collaboration, Ms. Hamilton embraces the idea of "our students" by creating lessons and projects that will affect all students, not merely those in her classes. Furthermore, Ms. Hamilton is premier member of our PBIS GOLD committee where she is always conceiving of new ideas to reward our kids for their positive behavior. Finally, administrators and staff alike know they can rely on Ms. Hamilton for her assistance in just about anything. Ms. Hamilton often acts as a counselor, mediator, leader, and liaison between teachers and parents. Her presence here is essential, and we are better school because of it. For these reasons and many more, I believe Katie Hamilton deserves recognition as Teacher of the Year.
