Testing

We hope our families had warm and restful Thanksgivings.  We return for only three weeks, as our last day of the semester is the 16th of December!

As we approach the end of the semester, your child's attention to attendance and learning opportunities is critical.

Beginning on December 5, state testing takes place in the following semester-long subjects (year-long sections will test in the spring):

  • American Literature: 12/5 and 12/6
  • Algebra 1:  12/7
  • US History:  12/8
  • Biology:  12/9

EOC scores count as 20% of a student's overall grade.

Testing takes place first thing in the morning.  Given the number of traffic delays this semester on 61 and Old Alabama Rd, I strongly encourage bus riding or leaving home earlier in order to account for any traffic.

ATTENDANCE on test day is so important!  Our students will almost always perform better on these tests when they take them at the scheduled time instead of during a make-up session.

Please see https://www.bartow.k12.ga.us/o/woodland-high/article/904266 for all the details on testing.

As we prepare for testing and reviewing for the end of the year, we will start our new Wildcat Period format this Monday (the 26th).  I am convinced that this new format, recommended by our school's guiding coalition will help provide important learning interventions more effectively and to more students.

Please see our social media or https://www.bartow.k12.ga.us/o/woodland-high/article/919305 for information.

Finally, remember that new learning wraps up on Friday the 9th.  Our last week of school will focus on interventions and opportunities for students to demonstrate deeper mastery and improve final grades.

Parents, please monitor PowerSchool for your student's progress as we approach the break, and please reach out to your child's teacher or counselor with any questions you may have.

Let's have a great last three weeks!
