There are places that feel like more than just buildings, they feel like home. This week, Allatoona Elementary School celebrated 30 years of being just that: a home for learning, growth, and connection!

The anniversary ceremony was not just a look back; it was a tribute to the people who built this school with vision and heart. From its groundbreaking in 1994 to its expansion in 2001, Allatoona has grown alongside the families it serves.

ALES Principal Mrs. Jennifer Suárez and Assistant Principal Mrs. Seigar Davis welcomed guests with reflections on the school’s journey.

“From the Lakers to the Wildcats, we are proud to call this school our home,” Suárez said.

Among the honored guests was Ms. Dot Frasier, who shared a powerful memory.

“I prayed this school here,” said Frasier. “Students were being bused to Emerson Elementary School 30 years ago. Students, families, and the community deserved a place of their own.”

Her vision, along with the leadership of Dr. Davis Nelson, superintendent at the time, and Dr. Randolph Ford, Allatoona's first principal, laid the foundation for what Allatoona has become.

The celebration was rich with student performances and a ceremonial tree planting in the garden.

And the joy didn’t stop there! Allatoona Elementary was proudly named a Title I Reward School, placing it in the top 5% of Georgia Title I schools for academic progress in ELA and Math. It’s the first time in 18 years the school has earned this distinction.

“This honor is a testament to the dedication of our students, staff, and families,” added Suárez. “As we celebrate 30 years, we also look to the future with a commitment to carry this strong tradition forward.”
