As we close the first half of the school year, I want to share an update on the instructional work taking place across our district and to thank you for your continued support.
Our focus this year has been strengthening Tier I instruction, the high‑quality teaching that every student receives every day in every classroom. Through classroom observations, conversations with students, and ongoing work with teachers and school leaders, we see clear evidence of this focus in action. Teachers are intentionally using our Tier I instructional framework, the Arts and Letters literacy curriculum, and the Georgia Department of Education’s Math Learning Plans with fidelity to design lessons that are rigorous and aligned to grade‑level expectations.
What this means for students is clear. They are spending more time engaged in meaningful reading, writing, problem‑solving, and discussion. Instruction is more purposeful, expectations are clearer, and students are being challenged to explain their thinking and apply what they are learning, skills that matter well beyond the classroom.
Improving core instruction is complex work. It requires consistency, reflection, and collaboration, and it does not happen without sustained effort. Our teachers and staff are committed to this work because strong Tier I instruction is the foundation for student success.
Thank you for your partnership as we continue this focus. By working together to prioritize high‑quality instruction, we are strengthening learning experiences and building a solid academic foundation for all students.
