Four exceptional students from the Bartow County School System (BCSS) have been selected as semifinalists for the highly competitive and prestigious Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP). These standout scholars represent some of the district’s most dedicated and high-achieving learners in both engineering and the arts. The 2026 BCSS semifinalists are:
• Sophia Vasquez-Munguia, Adairsville High School junior — Civil Engineering
• Francisco Flores III, Adairsville High School junior — Civil Engineering
• Jordon Goodwin, Adairsville High School sophomore — Electrical & Computational Engineering
• Nathan Loveless, Cass High School junior — Music: Percussion
“This year’s semifinalists reflect an exceptional level of dedication and talent,” said BCSS GHP Coordinator Paula Camp. “Many have built on past experience in the program, and their growth is evident. Our nominees in areas such as Fine Arts and Engineering continue to lead the way, and I look forward to watching these remarkable students showcase their strengths on one of Georgia’s most prestigious stages.”
The 2026 GHP semifinalists will now move forward to interviews or auditions at Georgia Southern University or Kennesaw State University on February 28 or March 14.
Finalists and alternates will be announced on March 20, and selected finalists will participate in the four-week summer residential program at Georgia Southern University beginning June 14.
