WE REMEMBER: Sweet Emersyn Bridgers.

Just weeks ago, Emmy celebrated her kindergarten graduation from Euharlee Elementary School.

Like so many students across Bartow County, she was looking forward to the start of a new school year. She was excited to begin first grade and continue learning with Mrs. Rose and many of the classmates she had come to love during kindergarten.

She had even picked out her rose-themed outfit for Open House next week.

Mrs. Rose affectionately called Emmy "Little Momma" because of the care and compassion she showed her classmates. Even at such a young age, she had a special way of looking after others, making everyone feel included, and lending a helping hand whenever she could.

Emmy never met a stranger. She loved everyone, was friends with everybody, and was always ready to give a hug. Her smile was contagious, stretching from ear to ear and brightening every room she entered.

This week, Emmy passed away suddenly, leaving her family, friends, classmates, teachers, and the entire Euharlee Elementary community heartbroken.

In the days before a new school year begins, it is especially difficult to imagine her seat empty and that outfit left unworn.
