Students in Mrs. Wielgosz’s 6th and 7th Grade ELA classes celebrated their hard-earned success with certificates and recognition for growth on grade-level material. Their determination, resilience, and dedication to learning have truly paid off. Congratulations to these outstanding students! 👏📚✨

🧪🔍 Honors 8th Grade Science wrapped up the week as Element Detectives! Each student researched a chemical element and showcased their learning through creative projects such as superheroes, wanted posters, models, trading cards, and other unique presentations. To top it off, students designed element cards and worked together to build their very own periodic table! ⚛️👏
We are so proud of Mrs. Wallis, our Math Coach, and Mr. Hardin, our Disciplinary Literacy Coach, who represented AMS at the Georgia STEM Forum in Athens!
Together, they presented FOUR sessions called Building a Sustainable STEM Culture, which received rave reviews from participants!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Lucas Garland and Phoebe Dustin, who have been selected as REACH Georgia Scholars! 🌟
REACH Georgia is the state’s mentoring and scholarship program designed to help academically promising students reach their full potential. REACH Scholars are paired with mentors and academic coaches, commit to maintaining strong grades, attendance, and behavior throughout high school, and upon successful completion of the program, earn a financial scholarship to help attend a HOPE-eligible college or university in Georgia!
Being selected as a REACH Scholar is an incredible opportunity and a reflection of the potential these students have already demonstrated.

Our 7th grade students explored the process of cellular respiration through a hands-on investigation using yeast, sugar, and water! Students were able to observe the production of carbon dioxide and connect what they saw in their experiment to the science happening inside living organisms every day.

We had an incredible STEM Showcase today, and our students absolutely SHINED! 🌟 We loved having the opportunity to showcase the amazing learning, creativity, and hard work happening throughout AMS.

💗 Dolly Day at AMS! 💗
We celebrated Dolly Day today with a little “cup of ambition” at lunch and ALL the Dolly things!
Pink, wigs, cowgirl boots, big hair, and plenty of Dolly spirit made for a fun Friday at AMS! 🤠💖
Because sometimes you just need to channel a little Dolly and work 9 to 5… or at least until that final bell rings! 😉

SHOUT-OUT TO MRS. SMITH’S 8TH GRADE ELA CLASSES!
Mrs. Smith’s students reviewed the narrative arc today by working collaboratively to identify and analyze the narrative elements in Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven.” Students put their literary analysis skills into action while learning from one another...great teamwork and engagement!

Our students brought cell biology to life by creating edible cookie cells! Using cookies and different types of candy, students modeled the structures of a cell and identified the different organelles and their functions.
This hands-on activity gave students a fun and memorable way to visualize how the parts of a cell work together. And the best part? After learning about their cells, they got to eat their models! 🍪🍭
Learning is definitely sweeter when science is involved! 🧬🔬
