🎓✨ Full Circle Moment! ✨🎓 Today, we welcomed back our graduating seniors as they joined our 5th Grade Walk — a heartwarming tradition that celebrates the journey from elementary to graduation. 💙💛 These seniors once walked these halls as Warriors, and now they return as role models, ready to take on the world. Congratulations to the Class of 2025! Your younger selves would be so proud.

🎉 A Special Honor! We’re incredibly proud to share that this year’s yearbook has been dedicated to Mrs. Susan Hendrix AND Mr. William Pickel — a truly deserving recognition for two special people who has made an unforgettable impact on our school community. Whether through tireless support, boundless enthusiasm, or simply always showing up with a smile, Mrs. Hendrix and Mr. Pickel have touched the lives of so many students and staff. This dedication is a small reflection of the big difference they’ve made.

🎉 Big Congratulations to White Elementary School! 🎉 We’re proud to announce that White Elementary School has been awarded the 2024 Gold Award for Greatest Gains by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement! 🏆 This prestigious honor means the school ranks in the top 3% of all Georgia schools for high growth in student achievement over the past three years. That’s incredible progress thanks to the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and supportive community! It takes the collaborative effort of teachers, principals, and parents working with students to achieve this level of success. We applaud our entire school community for this accomplishment. White Elementary School is one of 146 Greatest Gains schools in the state and only 19 schools in Georgia to earn the Gold Award in 2024! 👏 Please join us in celebrating this outstanding accomplishment by our school community. WES Teacher of the Year 2025-2026 Leanne Pyle *She works tirelessly day in and out for her students. She brings so much joy to not only the students she teaches, but our building as a whole. *She works collaboratively with her team, develops relationships with her students. *She deserves this because she constantly goes above and beyond to meet the needs of her students and support her team. She builds strong relationships with her students and makes them feel seen, loved, and encouraged to do their best! She builds a classroom where students are challenged and sets expectations that students strive to reach! She makes WES better. *Her data matches her teaching. She sets expectations for behaviors and academics high and monitors students throughout the year to achieve their goals. She and her students have meaningful classroom discussions to engage learning. We are excited to have Leanne Pyle represent White Elementary as our 2025-2026 teacher of the year!

White Elementary staff enjoyed a hydration station throughout the day yesterday sponsored by our wonder PTO.  Staff dress in their workout Wednesday attire to prepare for their "staff meeting" after school, aka a very competitive game of dodgeball.  Fun times were had by all!  We appreciate our fun-loving staff!

Our WES Chorus finished the year with their show, "Barnyard Moosical!" It was quite the "Dooscial!" Our Warrior family enjoyed performances at school before the chorus took the show on the road. They shared their talents at the City of White's Friendliest Mile Festival this past Saturday. Our chorus members are thankful for this opportunity to sing for the community and enjoy the festivities!

WES got fired up for state testing with a high-energy Milestones Pep Rally! 🥳 Students were surprised with a visit from none other than Milestone Mario and Princess Peach 👸—here to power-up the excitement for testing weeks! Things got wacky when teachers showed up dressed as mascots representing each grade level 🐯🦅🦄 and battled it out in an epic Mascot Race! 🏁 The competition was fierce and the laughter nonstop! 👏 A huge shoutout to 3rd grade for creating an original Milestones cheer that helped earn them the Spirit Award! 💥📣

🥬🍓 Food Fun + Strong Bones! 🦴✨ Last Thursday our school had a special visit from the UGA Extension Office as part of the Food Talk Farmers Market class! 🧑‍🌾 They learned all about "Building Your Calcium Bone Bank"—why calcium is so important and how to keep our bones strong and healthy! 💪🦴 To top it off, they got to sample a fresh and tasty Spinach & Romaine Salad with sweet strawberries and creamy poppyseed dressing. Yum! 😋🥗 Thank you, UGA Extension, for bringing nutrition education to life in such a fun and delicious way! 🌟

🎨✨ Student Talent on Display! ✨🎨 We’re thrilled to showcase the incredible creativity of our students at the Booth Western Art Museum! 🖼️ Stop by and witness the next generation of artists leaving their mark — you won’t want to miss this celebration of young talent! Juliette Pineda Pineda - The Primary & Elementary Schools Art Exhibition Purchase Award 2023. The piece's title is "Midnight Mint."
