💙💛 What an incredible way to wrap up the school year at WES!

As we wrapped up another amazing school year and sent our students off for summer break, we wish all of our WES families a safe, fun, and memory-filled summer!

Our staff enjoyed a delicious catered BBQ luncheon sponsored by our wonderful FCA church partners. A huge thank you to New Beginning Baptist Church of White, GA, Sutallee Baptist Church, Pleasant Olive Baptist Church, and Crosspoint City Church for supporting WES, treating our staff to lunch, and providing fun door prizes!

Special thanks to our WES Sunshine Committee for the beautiful decorations and delicious desserts that made the celebration even sweeter!

We were also proud to recognize four dedicated staff members for achieving perfect attendance the entire school year — congratulations to Karen Wright, Samantha Turley, Chandler Morales, and Margarita Gomez! Way to go!

After lunch, we honored two incredible WES Warriors as they head into retirement — Mrs. Turley and Mrs. Wills. Sweet memories, laughter, and heartfelt sentiments were shared as we celebrated the lasting impact they have made on our school family.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this school year so special. Have a wonderful summer, Warriors! 💙💛

🥒🍅 Growing More Than Gardens at WES! 🍅🥒

Our first-grade PBL driving question this year was: How can we grow fresh vegetables to support our Backpack Buddies community?

Our students put their learning into action by creating a plan to help make sure Backpack Buddies families would have fresh food throughout the summer. They planted seeds, cared for their plants, and proudly watched them grow into thriving tomato and cucumber plants.

Today, students delivered the plants along with beautiful informational brochures created by our talented 5th grade students. Families also received orange buckets that were generously donated by Home Depot — a huge thank you to Mrs. Berger’s husband for helping support this meaningful project!

We are so proud of our students for showing kindness, teamwork, and servant leadership while making a difference in our community. 💙💛

No matter where life takes you next, you’ll always be part of the Warrior family.

Two Warriors were recognized as Multilingual Mentors by Mrs. Martin and Ms. Ray.

Congratulations to Mrs. Ballard for being recognized as one of our Multilingual Mentors at White Elementary! Mrs. Ballard is an invaluable part of our staff and school community. Through Mrs. Ballard's care and encouragement, many multilingual students find a voice and strength through their art. Sometimes academic language can be a struggle, yet Mrs. Ballard provides them with a space where they feel seen, valued, and successful. She consistently goes above and beyond to create a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for all our multilingual students. Thank you, Mrs. Ballard, for the love and dedication you show our ESOL students each and every day as you help bring out their culture, confidence, and unique talents. The ESOL students at White Elementary are truly blessed to have you!

Ms. Stevens meets her students right where they are, from those who are brand new to the country to those who are ready for more of a challenge and makes sure each one feels supported. When asked, her students shared how much they love her style, describing her as happy, kind, and “the best.” You can see how much she cares in the way she shows up every day and stays focused on what her students need.

We are so blessed to have these two amazing teachers!

Mrs. Turley has been a treasured part of our WES family for 22 out of her 29 years in education. She has inspired countless students and teachers with her deep knowledge of language arts, her enthusiasm for reading, and her unwavering commitment to student success. Mrs. Turley has a special gift for building lasting relationships with her students, many of whom still look up to her long after they left her classroom. Her passion, positivity, and joyful spirit have made a lasting impact on our school. Her legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.

Mrs. Wills has dedicated 25 years to education, including the past 12 years at WES. During her time here, she has been an invaluable member of our exceptional education team. Mrs. Wills works seamlessly with her colleagues, and her classroom is a place where her students feel safe, supported, and encouraged — not only academically, but through the life lessons she so faithfully shares. Mrs. Wills, we will truly miss your sweet spirit, your dedication to students, and the laughter you bring to our school.
