Amy Heater takes the top spot at Cloverleaf Elementary School after serving as principal of White Elementary School for the last decade.

“I will miss my sensational students, staff, and parents,” says Heater. “We have been able to build a great school with collective commitments to all students.”

Heater started her career at WES 19 years ago. During that time, the results-oriented, passionate, and humble leader served as a third-grade teacher, assistant principal, and principal.

“It has been my home away from home,” adds Heater.

Under Heater’s steadfast leadership, WES became a top-performing Title I school. Staff and students earned the platinum Greatest Gains Award from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement and certification in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics from the Bartow County School System, just to name a few accolades.

“I believe that success is only possible through the Professional Learning Community process where there is a collaborative investment of staff, students, and stakeholders,” says Heater. “This is evident at both WES and CLES.”

When CLES Principal Dr. Evie Barge retires at the end of this academic year, Heater will assume the new role.

Interestingly, the two administrators already have a long-standing relationship. Dr. Barge was principal of WES when Heater was assistant principal. They anticipate a seamless transition.

“I can’t wait to get to know my new staff, parents, and students,” says Heater excitedly. “Being principal at CLES will give me an opportunity to extend my reach and get to know other talented students and staff within the Bartow County School System.”
