We have new visitors at WES. ;-)
After efforts of adding their favorite host plant, the Passion Flower Cone, many Fritillary caterpillars came to visit our butterfly garden.
You can also find more Fritillary larva donated by our Master Gardener in Mrs. Cole's classroom.
In addition, monarchs at WES keep flourishing! We can find many larva and chrysalises dining on the milkweed planted by students in both gardens.
A demonstration tent with monarchs can be found in Mrs. Ballard's classroom.

Thursday, August 24th, students had their first ever Drum Day!
Mr. Steve from Dancing Drum brought his program “Drumming Up Character” to White Elementary, and every student had a chance to rotate through 6 different percussion stations. They learned songs based on rhythms of positive characteristic words such as: CARING, RESPECT, SELF-CONTROL, and RESPONSIBILITY.
It was an awesome day of fun and making music by working together!

Congratulations to Mrs. Amy Croft, White Elementary's Teacher of the Year! Here are just a few of the things her coworkers said about her:
"She has done an amazing job stepping into a new role. She is quick to offer help and suggestions to anyone who asks."
"She understands, supports, gives ideas, and actual suggestions specific for each student that needs support."
"She does the work of 10 with grace and efficiency."
Congratulations Mrs. Croft for doing the right work for the students and staff at WES!
