THEY LANDED: IN ALASKA!!!!!!!! This group of Adairsville High School students and staff is beyond excited to experience the annual STEM Study Abroad trip open to all students! They were actually set to go to Iceland, but due to the borders not opening in time, they had to divert to a domestic trip, and they could not be happier with the alternative! The group will be out there until Monday, and they still have a lot to do, some of which includes: hiking near Denali (the highest peak in North America), an Alaskan train ride, whale watching, and visiting a sled dog camp!
ESOL SUMMER LEARNING CAMP: A week of memory-making fun for our ESOL students! Check it out! At Kingston Elementary, students spent time this week in their Outdoor Classroom, exploring a 1900's cabin and one-room classroom. They compared life from 200 years ago to now. Cloverleaf Elementary School students received a visit from Mr. Bob from GYSTC. They learned about magnetism, compasses, and map skills. Down the road, Allatoona Elementary School students visited the Allatoona Resource Center and planted their own flower and vegetable seeds to track the life system stages of plants. In Adairsville, students learned about the life cycle of a caterpillar and the stages it goes though to become a butterfly. Of course, they were excited to set the butterflies free!
MISSION EXPLORATION: Four days of free Bartow County STEM Camp fun wraps up today with special showcases for our parents to enjoy!
