Please congratulate our Youth Assembly Adairsville Delegation for the Center for Civics Education. These students represented Adairsville well. Savannah Viktora was elected the 81st Youth Assembly Lt. Governor! This is a first for not only Adairsville, but for Bartow as well! She will serve as a state CTSO officer for the GA DOE! Amelia did an AMAZING job singing the National Anthem and served as a house committee chair. Allison Potter was asked to be a committee secretary and even stepped up to fill in for another house committee chair. Savannah Viktora and Hayden Erickson wrote and presented their bills on the house floor. Both bills passed the house, with Hayden’s also passing the senate. Unfortunately, his transportation bill was vetoed by the (YA) Governor. Vivian Reyes worked with the media and was one of the reporters present when the Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger made a press release. Abby Britton and Hayden Erickson were able to add amendments to various bills. Most all students spoke in committee, with Savannah Viktora, Allison Potter, and Hayden Erickson speaking in the chambers.
The students were also able to hear many politicians speak such as House Rep. Matthew Gambill and Speaker of the House Jon Burns to name a few. Rep. Gambill was gracious to take a picture with us and expressed his excitement to see Adairsville High School at Youth Assembly.

**What is Youth Assembly? Students participate in mock committee meetings and procedures. They debate and vote on the bills that they/their fellow delegates have written. The bills go on to the House or Senate then, after a rigorous debate, are brought to the Governor and Lt Governor for a signature or a veto. Approximately, 750 students attended this year.

Thank you to all our staff and students who came out and showed your support for the HOPE Aguas Fresca’s fundraiser. A special thank you to our Café’ Manager, Mrs. Catalina Lara for preparation assistance and sharing your recipe.
From Mr. Goble :
Saturday the following students loaded up super early and competed in a welding and plumbing contest at the Atlanta 72 Welding and Pipe Fitting Union.
Natalie Wade walked away at the end of the day with a championship in the plumbing contest.
K. Coker finished 5th, J Willies finished 6th, T. Mealer finished 7th and M. Villarreal finished 8th. These boys worked hard and learned a lot, but coming out with a top 10 finish out of 42 other welders was just icing on the cake.
If you see these students tomorrow please let them know how proud you are of them.
They work hard every day and after school. The skills season just started for us and I can wait to see what all the students do this year.
