Good Afternoon Bartow County School System Family,
The Bartow County School System will be closed to all students and staff Thursday and Friday, September 26 and 27, 2024, due to the anticipated impact of Hurricane Helene and the potential for hazardous conditions in our area.
Extracurricular activities scheduled for Thursday, September 26, are canceled.
We will continue to work closely with emergency management officials this week to determine if Friday and Saturday evening school events need to be rescheduled. Please expect a district update by Friday afternoon.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our school community and act with utmost caution.
Sincerely,
Alisha Evans

Oh, yeah! It is Book Fair Time. See the image for details about next week's book fair.

It is that time! I will be doing the monthly reading challenge again this year. Please find the September Challenge flyer in your child's take-home folder. Please ensure your child has written his first and last name on top of the flyer. Once your child has completed the challenge, please return it to their homeroom teacher. I will give each child a brag tag for each month the reading challenge is completed. This year, I will also provide a certificate at the end of the year for every student who completes the challenge every month one is provided.
Thank you for helping our children gain a love for reading.
P.S. You can already mark complete Read a book you purchased from the book vending machine since we do not have a book vending machine (sorry).

To go with the second-grade standard of local government officials, the teachers and students at HCES hosted Cartersville Mayor Santini. He did a wonderful job telling our students all about being mayor. The students treated him like a rock star. Thank you, Mayor Santini.
