We will be showing our support by participating in Cass High School's Homecoming Week this year and have some FUN dressing up. This will start MONDAY, 10/10 and run throughout the week leading up to the homecoming game on Friday, 10/14 against Dalton High School. See the Flyer for each days theme. Note: On Thursday, you and your child can choose if they would like to dress as a babies/toddlers or senior citizens.

Kona Ice and Hat Day on Friday, September 30. See attached flyer for Kona Ice prices. Hat Day is $1.00, and your child may wear a hat.
Please try to have your student bring exact change. Also, if you have more than one child that attends HCES, please send money with each child. Each class goes at a different time; therefore, it is difficult to get the money divided so each child can purchase during their timeslot.

The 4th graders visited the Tellus Museum on September 21st and were able to participate in many fun and interactive activities. We stopped at the Planetarium, which gave us an in-depth look at our solar system and provided details about each of the planets and moons we’ve learned about in science this year. Additionally, students were able to view parts of rockets, space shuttles, airplanes, and other vehicles that paved the way for the 1969 Space Race, which brought Americans to the moon. Students also viewed an actual piece of moon rock and learn about the different ways that moon phases impact us here on Earth.

First graders were listening intently today to their guest speaker, Mrs. Faith. Mrs. Faith is a Veterinary that came to speak to the students about animal needs.

Thank you to all our parents, grandparents, staff, and students who supported the book fair! A shout out to all the wonderful volunteers that came out to help! You helped make our book fair a huge success!

Mrs. Johnson’s first grade class created a human number line today. Each number was represented on paper in various ways. Students also worked on number order in the classroom.

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Jennifer Tasker!!

Mrs. Seals’ fifth grade classes completed a STEM activity today. They made a structure out of jello, spaghetti, and marshmallows. They then tested the structure to simulate an earthquake. WOW! That is an amazing activity to go with their science standard of deconstructive and constructive forces.
