We selected our 2025-2026 teacher of the year last week during Staff Appreciation Week. Ms. Danielle Lyle, 6th grade ELA teacher, was chosen. She is an amazing teacher in every way. She cares about her students. She is committed to her coworkers. She loves our community. Mrs. Lyle exhibits "The Woodland Way" in the truest sense of the phrase. We are honored to have her represent WMS next year as our teacher of the year. #TheWoodlandWay

This week is teacher/staff appreciation week. We got off to a great start yesterday. We had delicious cinnamon rolls from @stilesborosourdoughbread company. Our staff loved them. We also gave away some gift cards, including a jeans pass, Stilesboro Sourdough loaves of bread, Stilesboro Sourdough crackers, A Texas Roadhouse gift card, and a gift card for bowling at Lakepoint. #TheWoodlandWay

For those interested in Cross County next year:
Softball tryouts are next week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (5/5-5/7). High school tryouts will be right after school and the upcoming 9th graders interested in trying out will be shuttled over to the high school field. Middle School tryouts will be from 6-7:30, so they will need to take their regular transportation home and come back by 6.
