Meet Ashley Boling. She's our new ESOL teacher. She is not new to BCSS. She's been at Cloverleaf Elementary School prior to coming here. Here's Ms. Boling in her own words: "Greetings, Wildcats and Family! My name is Ashley Boling, Ms. Boling to most and Mom to two boys. This year, I decided to alter the course of my educational journey and take on a new challenge as the ESOL teacher, here at Woodland Middle School. I am passionate and devoted to enriching the lives of children, no matter their current circumstance. We all have the tools to accomplish extraordinary things. We just need the right opportunities. I began my teaching career at Cloverleaf Elementary as a 5th grade teacher in 2019. It was not only a blessing, but it sparked a fire in me to make professional moves without fear of indifferent outcomes. Having graduated from Woodland High School in 2003, I never dreamt I would be serving the same institution that grew me... but ready or not, here I come, Wildcats! Seeing as I am currently back in school for my master's degree for School Counseling, there is not a lot of downtime, but when there is I enjoy watching Crime Shows, WWE, and "trashy" reality television. If not filling my head with trash television, I am hanging out with my teenage sons, enjoying what quality time I have left. I am stoked to be a part of this inclusive family, called WMS. I look forward to being a part of the growth and excellence that Woodland breeds. Let's Go Cats!" #THeWoodlandWay

We started our athletic season this afternoon. Our softball team played Dalton at WHS to open the season. It was a hard fought battle, but the lady Cats came up short, losing 21-14. Keep chopping girls. #TheWoodlandWay

Meet Ann McKay, a new paraprofessional at WMS. In her own words, "As a Woodland High School graduating class of 2003, I'm very blessed to be a part of the Woodland Family once again. I worked at Brightview Academy/Bells Ferry Learning Center for years with a variety of different ages. All of my students had a variety of different learning styles. My daughter Kaitlynn is also a member of the Woodland Family as a Sophomore at Woodland High School. I am a proud Christian educator in the Special Education department. I have a heart for Special Education Students because I understand the world of Special Education through Kaitlynn and her Special Needs. I also love Alabama Football. Roll Tide Roll. Once a Wildcat Always a Wildcat." #TheWoodlandWay

A huge thanks to Coach Chris Taylor and his Bible study group from First Baptist Church, Cartersville. They did a beautification project for our school this weekend, including pressure-washing, trash pickup and fence-repair in our butterfly garden. We are so appreciative of this service project. #TheWoodlandWay
