What a special thing it is to have Cliff Ellis stop by our school today. If you are a true college basketball fan and have followed the game for any length of time, you know who Cliff Ellis is. Over the last several decades, he has coached at several Division-1 universities, including Clemson, Auburn and most recently at Coastal Carolina. He started his career as a high school basketball coach. He also happens to be the father of our registrar, Anna Catherine Moore. He gave me a signed copy of his latest book, Life's a Dance: Understand the Steps. The man knows his basketball. What a great conversation. #TheWoodlandWay

8th grade physical science did a spooky lab as an extension today reviewing density, chemical reactions, and chemical equations. Density towers- students created density towers to experiment with how different substances have different densities and how that could affect solutions. Glow-stick lab- students learned the science behind glow-sticks and how their glow is created from chemical reactions. Candy molecules- students balanced chemical equations and built 3D molecules out of candy.
